A Dash of Pink
This hot pink 2010 Harley Davidson Sportster (“Femme Fatale”) is inside Kiehl’s Since 1851 in Bellevue Square. I asked why a store that specializes in skin and hair care products would have a Harley on display. The manager explained that the founder was a Harley fan; he put one in the New York store as a draw for men who were accompanying their wives shopping. I used ColorSplash because otherwise there is simply too much color.

On The Scene
Yesterday, returning from a Costco run, I encountered a police roadblock: there were firetrucks and ambulances galore circling a nondescript apartment complex that is one block from Edmonds Community College and about a mile from our house. I parked, talked to the local cop blocking the street, then walked up to take pictures and ask a few questions. The fire seemed to be contained to the interior of one unit and allegedly originated when a bed caught on fire. Around the corner, there were lots of folks — residents and public safety employees — standing around in the sub-freezing weather.

Greenbank Farm Off-Leash Dog Park
From Sunday’s chocolate-and-wine tour of Whidbey Island. Katie seemed to have a good time in the off-leash park, even though she won’t stray very far. We encountered an extremely vigorous and curious three-legged (cancer) Jack Russell (his owners are in this picture) and several folks with large dogs (who make Katie nervous). It was cold but beautiful! I can only imagine how crowded it must be in the summer.
