Red Leaves On Building

Red Leaves On Building

Red is hard. My friend Deanna has explained to me why it’s hard to make red blown glass objects. Over the course of the past few weeks, I’ve discovered that capturing the beauty of red leaves on vine-covered buildings is, to put it mildly, a challenge, at least with my iPhone4 as the camera.

As October winds down, my opportunities for capturing these colorful vines shrink. So yesterday I tried, one more time. What caught my eye was the two lonely clumps of leaves. Why do they drop so unevenly, time-wise?

Which tells the story better? This cropped version or the original long shot?

Pluto and Goofy Hanging Around

Pluto and Goofy Hanging Around

I had lunch with a student today at the Wild Ginger in Bellevue. Mike, who works across the street at Microsoft City Center, took his lunch break after mine, and we went for a walk. He’d already spotted this decoration (permanent, Halloween-related?) and specifically took me down this street so I could take a picture. It’s an iPhone – you might say I trespassed. (I had to walk up to the front door – here’s the long shot.)
